Exam

The Fundamentals of Engineering Exam is administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering Surveying (NCEES).

The FE exam includes 110-questions. The exam appointment time is 6 hours long and includes:

• Nondisclosure agreement (2 minutes)
• Tutorial (8 minutes)
• Exam (5 hours and 20 minutes)
• Scheduled break (25 minutes)

The exam is offered in seven disciplines. Specifications for the exams are as follows:

Registering for the FE Exam

Applicants wishing to take the exam for engineer or land surveyor enrollment or licensure should contact the vendor, the National Council for Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES), directly. The candidates will then have to make application to the State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies, Division of Professions and Occupations.
